Formed and incorporated in 2003, this 501(c)3 organization is insured.
Licensing complies with state requirements
Board is appointed and officers are elected.
This program uses foster homes and boarding facilities.
This program has written policies
This program works with goldens and golden mixes.
They adopt out of the service territory
Requires a dog be returned if the owner cannot keep
Takes ownership of a dog upon intake
They do not require a home visit before adoption approval except under special circumstances: to check a fence, meet family members and pets, etc.
Follows up with adopters after placement
Dogs are observed and evaluated before adoption
All dogs receive all vaccines (Rabies, DHLPP and any other regionally appropriate tests) before adoption
All dogs have all tests (heartworm, fecal and other regionally appropriate tests) before adoption.
All dogs are altered (spayed or neutered) before adoption.
Other requirements of adoption: dog must live indoors - part of family
Other program features: we will adopt to families with children under 5 but with restrictions - we choose the dog and family must attend obedience classes.
Considerations for intake/surrender: we have to have room - shelter dogs given 1st priority. We ask those surrendering to bring dog up to date on shots, etc.
Our greatest need is training whitepapers to provide new volunteers, fosters, transporters and adopters with Golden behavior and the essential structure and guidance they desire.
