Primary Areas: Serving rescue needs of the entire state of Florida but concentrating efforts in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Manatee and Sarasota counties.

Organizational information:
Golden Rescue in Naples, Inc., is devoted to the Golden Retriever breed with emphasis on seniors and those with special medical needs. Our funding program supports veterinary treatment and care for displaced Golden Retrievers coming into GRINinc or another 501c3 Golden Retriever rescue organization.
Formed and incorporated in 2004, this 501(c)3 orgainization is insured.
Board and officers are elected.
Licensing complies with state requirements
This program uses foster homes and boarding facilities occasionally for urgent intakes

Policies:
This program has written policies This program works with Goldens and Golden mixes with golden temperament
This program does not require an application fee
They adopt out of the service territory to friends, family out of Florida only
Requires a dog be returned if the owner cannot keep it
Takes ownership of shelter dogs, outside dogs. Private owners are asked to keep dog until a home is available
Requires a home visit before adoption approval unless out of state
Follows up with adopters after placement
Dogs are observed and evaluated before adoption
All dogs receive all vaccines (Rabies, DHLPP and any other regionally appropriate tests) before adoption
All dogs have all tests (heartworm, fecal and other regionally appropriate tests) before adoption.
All dogs are altered (spayed or neutered) before adoption.
Adoption requirements:
Must be inside family pet.
Not left outside unsupervised.
Kept on leash outside of fenced area.
Will adopt to homes w/o fences if appropriate for dog.
Obedience training required in some adoptions.
Proper vet care a must.
Other program features: Education days and community activities are scheduled to promote mission of rescue.
Considerations for intake/surrender:
We take seniors (above age 7) and special needs Goldens (all ages) on a limited basis.
